Q.  SETUP: DOES IT MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

A.  "We never JUST pick a box off the shelf and send it.
Every ukulele is checked for quality of finish, Tuned, Play Tested and Setup for best playability.

YES Setup ... It Makes ALL the Difference."
Cheers CC

The SK-28 Soprano is another homage to a vintage instrument, inspired by  the instruments introduced to Hawaii by the likes of legendary luthiers Manuel Nunes and Augusto Dias.

The 'Figure 8' or 'Peanut' body shape is a true classic, it is the closest representation of the Portuguese instruments brought to the Hawaiian islands.

Dias and Manuel Nunes the earliest ukulele makers and crafted ukuleles for more than 40 years and are legend amongst ukulele  enthusiasts.

HISTORY
History tells that Samuel Kamaka and Nunes own son, Leonardo, were apprentices and continued making quality ukuleles. In 1998, the Ukulele Hall of Fame inducted Manuel Nunes into their honorees.

'Louis Wu of Ohana Music has come up with a fantastic homage to the 'original' ukulele, made  in the traditional style.'

"If you are serious about your ukulele playing and uke collecting then a 'Peanut' body style soprano is a must have for you."

The Waterman Story
KALA Ukulele, known for several brands of high quality yet affordable instruments, has been inspired by the 1950's Maccaferri ukulele and created a new uke with a focus on the outdoor enthusiast. "The Waterman" is a ukulele for everyone but pays special tribute to people that live the waterman, outdoor lifestyle.

The Waterman Ukulele pays homage in part to the legendary ukulele designer, Mario Maccaferri. Inspired at the 1939 World's Fair he saw plastic as the material of the future. Mario eventually combined his skills as a luthier and his business of injection molding and invented the Maccaferi Ukulele. After being endorsed by entertainer, Arthur Godfrey, on his TV show, 9 million of the Maccaferri ukes were sold between 1949 and 1969.

The Kala Makala Waterman Soprano Uke takes the Maccaferri concept to all new heights.
An affordable, innovative uke with the quality you've come to expect from Kala, the Makala Waterman plays great, sounds great, and stays in tune.

From the beach to the mountains and everything in between, the Makala Waterman boasts a durable high-grade polycarbonate construction and a travel-friendly, water-resistant design that makes this uke the perfect choice no matter where you go.

Comes equipped with a set of nickel-plated open-gear tuners and a set of Aqulia Super Nylgut strings. Can easily converted for left-handed players. Includes a logo backpack bag.

Ohana SK-10S Soprano Entry Level Ukulele Designed in California and Manufactured in China punches well above its weight class

Ohana SK-10S Soprano Ukulele
The SK-10S is the entry level Ohana ukulele, it is the least expensive in their range of California USA designed but China built ukuleles, but you know what?  The SK-10S actually sounds good and is easy to play.  And considering it's price point, it scrubs up as a really good little soprano uke that wont cost you an arm and a leg.

$70 AUD
+ FREE Postage in Australia.
+ FREE Set-Up

A lot of the "starter" Ukuleles can be left wanting for tone and playability, and I find that many people who get the ukulele bug can easily "out grow" their first ukulele and start looking for something that sounds better in the Intermediate category of $100 plus Ukes.

At $70 Aussie dollars it would be a mistake to dismiss the little SK-10S as  'just another beginner uke" because this entry level Ohana Soprano actually sounds nice and is inviting to play.

Punching well above its weight class it easily straddles the beginner / intermediate line, a world away from the cheap toy ukes.

It may be Ohanas entry level student soprano Ukulele but they got the SK-10S basics right, they even fit as standard spec the Italian Aquila Strings, and at $70 Aussie Dollars you can't go wrong with this ukulele ... it is possible to buy cheaper ukuleles,  but the extra money spent on this instrument is well worth it ...

SUMMARY:
It is a great uke to start on, or suitable for someone stepping up from the world of cheapo ukuleles and for only $70 bucks they play fantastic, sound sweet and offer CHEAP FUN FUN  FUN.

 SPECS:
* Soprano Size
* Quality Geared tuning Keys
* Rosewood Fingerboard and bridge
* Mahogany top, back and sides (laminate)
* Aquila Italian Strings
